1,200 Drones Light Up KLCC Skyline For Chinese New Year, Leaving Netizens In Awe

Kuala Lumpur lit up in spectacular fashion on the night of Jan. 25, 2025, as 1,200 drones took to the sky for Malaysia’s largest-ever drone light show.

Held near the iconic Petronas Twin Towers, the performance was part of the Chinese New Year celebrations marking 50 years of Malaysia-China diplomatic relations.

The dazzling display featured intricate patterns, cultural symbols, and vibrant colours, transforming the city skyline into a visual feast.

Netizens, especially those from China spending their Chinese New Year in Malaysia, were amazed at the effort and detail.

The netizen remarked how the atmosphere in Malaysia felt even more festive than back home, with the decorations and celebratory vibes evident throughout the city.

From the red and gold hues adorning streets to the revamped decor of the Twin Towers, it was clear that the Malaysian government wasn’t holding back on celebrating Chinese culture.

The event, themed “SATU PERAYAAN, SATU PERSAHABATAN”, was officiated by Malaysian Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim, alongside key ministers from both countries.

The drone show wasn’t just a visual spectacle—it was a symbol of the cultural and diplomatic ties between the two nations.
