‘I’m proud to represent M’sia’ Chee Chaoming promises to come back stronger in future matches

Table tennis player Chee Chaoming expressed his pride in representing Malaysia at the Tokyo 2020 Paralympics despite his opening loss to Italy’s Mohamed Kaley.

Upset over his unsatisfactory performance, Chee took to social media to apologise for not being able to advance further and thanked Malaysians for their consistent support.

“I used to think it’s very far and I’ve made it here today. Since I was young, I’d always hoped to represent my beloved country Malaysia,” he wrote.

He also shared how he was thankful to be able to make his debut during the pandemic.

Overall I’ve gained a very good experience here on my first Paralympics. I believe I can do much better in future.

My Tokyo Paralympics will end here and I promise to do better.

You’ve already done your best, Chaoming! Keep your head up high and continue to aim for the stars!
