Lee Zii Jia Surges To No. 3 Spot In Latest World Ranking

Malaysian badminton star Lee Zii Jia has reclaimed his spot as World No. 3 in the latest Badminton World Federation (BWF) rankings, following a 99-week absence from the position.

The 26-year-old’s rise in the rankings was confirmed on Tuesday despite his early exit from the Japan Open last month.

Lee’s impressive form saw him clinch a bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, helping him accumulate 83,716 points and overtake Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn and Denmark’s Anders Antonsen.

This marks a significant comeback for the Kedah-born shuttler, who last held the third spot in October 2022.

Lee Zii Jia’s highest career ranking was World No. 2, a position he achieved on January 17, 2023, before his return to the No. 3 spot.
