A man with schizophrenia drove around Bulatan Mahkota, Kluang, more than 150 times, leaving onlookers stunned before police intervened.
The 57-second viral video showed a white Perodua Axia circling the roundabout with hazard lights flashing, reportedly from morning until night.
The bizarre incident quickly gained attention on social media.
According to Sinar Harian, the police received a report at 8.20 pm on Thursday (February 13) and stopped the vehicle within 10 minutes.
Fortunately, no accidents or injuries occurred.
Receiving treatment at the hospital
Kluang District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Bahrin Mohd Noh, confirmed that the driver, a local man in his 50s, has schizophrenia and is receiving treatment at Hospital Enche’ Besar Hajjah Khalsom.
He previously received care at Hospital Permai, Johor Bahru, in 2020 and 2021.
Investigations revealed that the car belongs to the man’s brother. Police have advised the family to ensure he does not drive or leave home alone.
