Revenge after 13 painful losses

Coming into this match, the odds weren’t in Malaysia’s favour.

Out of 14 previous meetings, Pearly and Thinaah had only beaten the Japanese pair once, holding a tough 1–13 head-to-head record before this match.

But in just 36 minutes, they turned the tables.

With this victory, they now stand at 2–13 in their head-to-head encounters.

To reach the semifinals of the Daihatsu Japan Open 2025, Malaysia’s Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan defeated South Korea’s Jeong Na Eun and Lee Yu Lim in the quarterfinals.
