Recently, a Malaysian man was left stunned after spotting a RM5 banknote for sale at an antique shop in Barcelona, Spain, for a whopping €6, approximately RM30.
He shared his discovery on Threads via his account, @eizuwan, where he posted a picture of the RM5 note with a price tag attached.
“Jumpa dekat booth barangan antik dekat Barcelona, Spain. RM5 kita diorg jual sampai €6 (RM30) ,” he captioned the video, expressing his surprise at the price.

The post quickly gained attention from fellow Malaysians, who were equally confused. Many questioned why a relatively new banknote was being sold in an antique shop.
One user pointed out, “The serial number is probably what makes it expensive.”
