A teacher was left speechless after discovering that a student had filled their exam answer sheet with song lyrics instead of addressing the essay question.
According to a TikTok video posted by @cikgu_baby, the incident took place during an exam based on the Malay literature novel Tawanan Komander Caucasus.
Write lyrics instead of answer
The 19-second clip shows the teacher expressing her initial excitement to grade papers, which quickly turned into disappointment upon encountering the student’s unconventional answer.
Instead of crafting the required essay, the student wrote the complete lyrics to the song APT. by Rosé and Bruno Mars.
Adding to the frustration, the student’s meticulous effort in reproducing the lyrics highlighted a lack of focus on the actual exam task.

“We have tried our very best to provide an excellent educational platform for the children, but this is how they repay us. Disappointed!” the teacher shared in the video.
She also expressed her wish for students to channel their dedication into academic tasks.
“If only you were as diligent in writing essays as you are in writing the full lyrics of this song, how proud your teacher would be,” she added.
