I hope the next leader can improve the state of badminton affairs in our country,” he told the English daily.

Norza had previously hinted at stepping down after the Olympic Games, underscoring his commitment to both OCM and BAM, roles he holds pro bono.

I do not receive any salary from both organizations. I want to help bring glory and pride to our nation,” he reportedly said.

‘Attack on my family is unnecessary’

He expressed distress over the recent scrutiny faced by his family, stating, This attack on my family is absolutely unnecessary, and my family does not need to go through such scrutiny.”

The controversy erupted when a social media post on X showed Norza’s wife and son wearing accreditation cards at an Olympic match.

Norza clarified that their accreditation was granted through a personal quota separate from the national team’s allocation.
