In a viral video posted to social media, a Myvi driver was captured tailgating another vehicle just to sneak past a toll booth without paying the 60-sen fee.
Captured by the rear dashcam of the car in front and posted on social media.
According to the video, the Myvi driver successfully executed the tailgating maneuver, slipping past the toll booth just before the barricade lowered.
The poster captioned, “Tak mampu bayar tol RM0.60 ka?” (“Can’t afford a 60-sen toll?”), highlighting the absurdity of the situation.
The video shows the Myvi driver’s willingness to risk a traffic violation or accident just to save such a trivial amount.
Why so stingy?
This isn’t the first time a driver has engaged in risky behavior to dodge toll fees.
Earlier this year, another headline-grabbing case involved a Malaysian Mercedes driver who was busted for skipping out on toll fees a staggering 45 times.
The trend is perplexing, considering the drivers often own luxury vehicles yet evade tolls that pale in comparison to their cars’ value.
