Tang Jie-Ee Wei & Pearly-Thinaah To Fight For GOLD At BWF World Championship On National Day

The 2025 BWF World Championships finals will take place tonight in Paris, with Malaysia’s mixed doubles pair Chen Tang Jie and Toh Ee Wei, and women’s doubles duo Pearly Tan and Thinaah Muralitharan stepping onto court in search of gold on National Day (Aug 31).

Tang Jie-Ee Wei will play the first match of the night at 7pm (Malaysian time), where they face the world’s top-ranked Chinese pair Jiang Zhenbang and Wei Yaxin.

The Malaysians have a tough task ahead, having lost three of their four previous meetings.

Pearly-Thinaah to contest at 8.40pm tonight

Later at around 8.40 pm, Pearly-Thinaah will contest the women’s doubles final against China’s top-ranked Liu Shengshu and Tan Ning, who are nicknamed the “Sheng-Tan” pair.

In between, the women’s singles final will see Chen Yu Fei of China, who upset reigning champion An Se Young yesterday, face Japan’s Akane Yamaguchi around 7.50 pm.

The men’s singles battle features world number one Shi Yuqi of China against Thailand’s Kunlavut Vitidsarn, expected to begin at 9.30 pm.

Closing the night will be the men’s doubles final, with Korea’s top-ranked pair Seo Seung Jae and Kang Min Hyuk taking on China’s Chen Boyang and Liu Yi at around 10.20 pm.
